Having finished my 41st year of teaching, I have covered almost any marketing and business topic imaginable!
Since 2000 I have split my working time with my side hustle--TheMarketingTeacher.
I create, write and/or compile resources for high school marketing and business teachers.
I enjoy giving keynote presentations, workshops, break-outs, and whatever other names you have for teaching. I like teaching teachers as well as my high school students.
Who is this guy?
In the Summertime . . .
I simply rest and relax during my summer vacation . . . said NO teacher EVER!
It's also when I scour the internet for new tech tools to share with teachers at a variety of conferences.
Actually, the summer is when I create. WebBooks. Projects. Assignments. eBooks. Whatever I think teachers will find useful.
More Than Just the Score!
This workshop provides teachers with insight into why they should teach sports marketing and business and how to do it right. Do it right? Yes, there is a wrong way to teach sports marketing.
Some teachers fill class time with discussions and projects about fantasy sports and building a stadium. Those are interesting topics, but time needs to be dedicated to helping students understand the two main aspects of sports business: marketing OF sports and marketing THROUGH sports.
The session will take a deep dive into the curriculum and cover what to teach and how to teach it. We will also look at various activities, assignments, resources, and projects to add value to your class.
Marketing and Business Get Social
Most teachers know that social media is here to stay . . . and the students are all over it. However, are we teaching how social media is used in the world of business?
This session takes you on a tour through the development of a curriculum and a discussion of how this class may look different than others. We will also talk about assignments, activities and assessments.
Good news, you don't have to use every social media platform in order to teach the course. That's right--you can have a life offline!
Tech Tools and Cool Resources for Teachers
Technology changes so often that we can hardly keep up. Well, you don't have to, I will do it for you. This topic can be presented in two different ways:
A one-hour workshop where we will explore a variety of different tech tools that are very useful to teachers. These tools will help teachers be more effective, save time, or have more fun.
A two-hour (or more!) workshop in a computer lab which will provide opportunities for hands-on learning with a variety of tools, apps, websites, etc.

(sessions can be specific to marketing, business, or a more general audience)
You, Inc.: Becoming a Solopreneur
Traditional entrepreneurship curriculum spends hour after hours discussing selecting a store location, securing financing, advantages of the various types of ownership, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The problem? Most of our students will experience being a digital solopreneur and self-finance through bootstrapping. Let's teach them about things they will really use.
Join this discussion about teaching entrepreneurship from a digital perspective. Select and source a product, build an online store and start marketing.
Is it surprising that students might appreciate a class that shows them how to make money . . . right now!
The Digital Way of Doing Business
Digital pictures. Digital TV. Digital currency. Everything is going digital . . . even in marketing.
Marketing is marketing. Business is business. Well, not always. The digital age has changed the way we do things. Email. Websites. Mobile App. Smartphones. Content marketing. eCommerce. And the list goes on. The world of business is changing.
In this workshop, we will explore and discuss everything we should teach in a class that focuses on the digital way of doing business. In addition, we will cover assignments, activities, projects and ways to assess learning.
What About This?
If you have a specific topic you need to have covered at your conference, just let me know. Social media in the classroom? Branding your program? Marketing like the Grateful Dead? The use of technology in education? Teaching leadership? Or . . .
Just provide the topic, and I will create a presentation specifically for your conference. If it is education, technology, marketing or business related, I will make it happen.
