Richard James Stadium, located on the Western University campus in Springville, boasts breathtaking views of the Arizona Red Rocks. It is one of the most picturesque stadiums in Division I FCS football. The stadium has undergone recent renovations and upgrades and now stands as one of the finest in the league.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Randy Kessler Estate, the stadium installed a state-of-the-art artificial turf field and a new track in 2009. The addition of a high-efficiency lighting system has further enhanced the experience for nighttime events.
The Sky Suites & Press Box complex, which opened in 1998, is a 29,000-square-foot facility that includes 26 suites, club seating, a press box facility, and meeting spaces. The facility has been utilized for numerous campus and community events over the years.
With a seating capacity of 27,500, James Stadium is also home to the Wildcat Athletic Department offices, as well as the coaching offices for football and track and field. There is also a dedicated study area for student-athletes.
Since the university's establishment in 1959, James Stadium has been the home of Western University football and track and field. In addition to Wildcat Athletic events, the stadium has hosted a variety of community events, including concerts and various performances. It has also played host to motor cross events, lacrosse games, and the Arizona State High School football championships.
