Have Some Fun!

TV Tunes Trivia Contest

Here's What the Event is Like
This is another contest that gives every fan a chance to win. Throughout the night, fans must identify the name of the television theme song played over the PA.

Guidelines for Running the Event
As fans enter the arena, they should receive a piece of paper and perhaps a pencil as well. The paper is an entry form that will include the sponsor name and logo, a place for the fans name, and a blank for each television theme song that will be played that night. (NOTE:  You can also go digital and use a link on your website to a Google Form to enter.)

During the evening, the announcer will announce that the "next song is song # X in the TV Tunes Trivia Contest". He will then play 15-20 seconds of the song. Fans will then write down the name of the television show that the song came from.

Be sure to play all of the songs early enough in the night so fans can turn in their entry forms and you can determine the winner. Announcing the winner at the end of the night might encourage fans to stay longer as well.

Before deciding which songs to use, consider your audience. If you expect the vast majority to be high school students, you will play different songs than if a large portion of the fans will be adults.

A Few Words about Prizes and Sponsors

As far as prizes are concerned, the most obvious choice is a new television set. Having the TV on display at the event is a major plus. It creates a little excitement.  You may also offer a year of free cable television or satellite television, depending upon what is available in your community.

I recommend contacting a discount store and having them as a sponsor. They will enjoy the exposure, and the cost of the prize is relatively small.
