Many marketers have heard about Facebook and Instagram Stories but aren’t sure how to get started. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions about each network to help you begin using this new content format.

 

How large can my image be?

 

• Your image can be up to 520 x 520 pixels. This is the optimum size.

 

How long can my video clips be?

 

• On Instagram, your video clips can be up to 15 seconds in length.

 

How can I save and share stories using the Instagram app?

 

• Tap in the top left of your screen or swipe right from anywhere in Feed.

 

• Tap at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. To choose a photo from your phone's library or gallery, swipe up anywhere on the screen. If the photo or video you choose doesn't fit on the screen at first, pinch to change the size.

 

• When you are ready to share, tap  on the bottom right of the photo or video you'd like to share and choose “Share as Post.”

 

How can I control who sees my stories?

 

• The visibility of your story depends on the privacy setting of your account. With private accounts, only your approved followers can see your story. With public accounts, anyone on Instagram can see your story.

 

How can I hide or delete stories?

 

• To Delete:

  • Open your story.

  • Tap in the bottom right of the photo or video you'd like to delete.

  • Tap Delete, then tap to confirm.

 

• To Hide:

  • Tap on the icon, and choose HIDE from the menu. You can hide from select users by choosing their username.

 

How can I tag someone in a story?

 

• Type @ and their username to select the person you'd like to mention. This sends them a notification that there is something special they need to see.

 

How can I add a sticker to a story?

 

• From your story, tap to add stickers to your photos or videos. For videos, you can pin stickers to a fixed spot by adding the sticker, then tapping and holding. Use the slider bar at the bottom of the screen to scroll through your video to decide exactly where you want to pin the sticker. Move the sticker and tap Pin.

 

• Delete a sticker by dragging and dropping it on at the bottom of the screen. Note the icon will only appear once you have started dragging the sticker.

 

How can I add a link to a story?

 

• Links can only be used in verified Instagram accounts. If you add a link, it will become a Read more button at the bottom of your

 

How can I see who has viewed my story?

 

• To look at who's seen your story, open your story and swipe up on the screen. You'll see the number as well as the names of the people who have seen each photo or video in your story. These metrics will be visible only to you.
